Primavera

Primavera is my longest-running personal favorite pattern. For a long while, my favorite pattern had been whatever was my newest creation, but Primavera was the first design I made to defy that. After years of struggling to create even one print that was primarily purple (and usually hating the results when I did finish a piece), it’s a shock that so much purple features in this print I love so much. While drawing it, I decided to step out of my comfort zone with color and style, trying out a more dense, bouquet look with a texture mimicking oil paint. I haven’t been able to truly replicate the feel of Primavera since, which is thoroughly disappointing, but also makes her even more special. My mom agrees with my love of Primavera—I still remember loving the moment I got a text from her saying that it was her favorite pattern and reminds her of her favorite artist, Monet. I mean what a high compliment—I don’t know how I’ll ever top that!
